Community leaders and local elected officials were on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to help BNSF Logistics celebrate the official opening of its new, state-of-the-art domestic headquarters in Springdale.
The 30,000-square-foot building is located at 2710 South 48th Street, near Arvest Ballpark, the Tyson Recreational Complex and the recently announced Arkansas Children’s Hospital Campus. The site will employ 185 people including numerous recent hires, with capacity to eventually support 225 or more.
“We are thrilled with our new space and excited to be part of this growing area,” said Dan Curtis, BNSFL COO. “This top-notch facility and prime location will help our team continue to provide the reliable, efficient service our customers have come to expect.”
BNSFL is an international, multi-modal logistics service provider, helping customers to manage and move freight around the world. BNSFL has 40 offices throughout North America. Springdale operations will primarily focus on trucking and rail services. The space is also home for the company’s corporate IT and HR teams. BNSFL’s Springdale team previously worked from two separate locations on South Thompson Street.
BNSFL worked with local commercial real estate firm Sage Partners to select and acquire the space. “BNSFL is a dynamic, growing company, and they had several specific needs for the new location, including access to I-49 and being near many amenities. Our team was excited to help them locate and select this fantastic site, in one of the fastest-growing corridors in the state,” said Marshall Saviers, Partner with Sage.
The facility’s unique interior features, designed by Julie Wait Designs, were designed with employees and business in mind. Transportation themes are seen throughout, including worktables made of reclaimed and disassembled semi-trailers, then hand-crafted by local veterans. “We are truly proud of this space, and proud to be part of this community,” said Curtis.
BNSFL, a member of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce, is the latest company to locate in the fast-growing Ballpark District. Future construction in the area will include the Northwest Arkansas Campus of Arkansas Children’s Hospital, and the Northwest Arkansas Community College Washington County campus. “BNSFL is a well-known, international company that has a large economic impact on our community,” said Perry Webb, President/CEO of the Springdale Chamber. “We are happy to have them join this vibrant, growing part of our city.”
